Ben Update!

As many of you know we had a bit of a scare with Ben yesterday. Becca woke up in the morning and just knew something was wrong with him. She took Ben to our pediatrician, who then sent him to get an ultrasound. On the ultrasound they discovered fluid, which was blood, in between his liver and diaphragm. After the ultrasound Becca called our pediatric hematologist who thought it was best we took Ben to the children's hospital in Little Rock. So, we dropped Grace off with some friends and packed our bags and headed to Little Rock. We arrived here at around 9:30 and sat in the ER until about an hour ago. They gave Ben a CT scan and discovered about a 5ml bleed which originated in his spleen. We have given Ben his factor which helps his blood clot and he's doing much better. We are currently in a room and have been administered to the hospital and we are awaiting word from the pediatric hematologist. While we are relieved he is MUCH better today we are still concerned that he had a "spontaneous bleed" in his spleen that was caused by nothing. Will it get better? Should we expect a lot more of this in the future? These are questions we still have. Also, it should be mentioned that we have only seen one Dr. since we've been here and she was a resident, so we also have to take a lot of the above mentioned preliminary results with a grain of salt. Ben is smiling and cooing today, so that is a very reassuring sign. Thank you all for your prayers, if this is the first you have heard of this, please keep us in your prayers, because we truly do feel them.

More updates to come!

PS-Our phones don't work, but we have Internet in the rooms. Go figure!
